Rene Girard

Here is an interview with Rene Girard.  The interview itself is not fantastic, but perhaps it might turn some people on to Girard.  I think he is among the most profound of living thinkers, and would highly recommend his work (he has been extremely influential in literary criticism, particularly his insight on the mimetic quality of desire).  I have written a few papers on Girard, if there is interest I could present one sometime to the Philosophy Club.

About Kleiner

Associate Vice Provost and Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Utah State University. I teach across the curriculum, but am most interested in continental philosophy, ancient and medieval philosophy as well as Catholic thought, all of which might be summed up as an interest in the ressourcement tradition (returning in order to make progress). I also enjoy spending time thinking about liberal education and its ends.
