Welcome to the fall term, students returning or new! In addition to the great courses we’re offering, there will be philosophical events through the term. Keep checking this blog or subscribe to it (see the column on the left) to stay informed.

On Tuesday August 29th, at 7 p.m., our college is hosting the “Light on the Hill” event at the amphitheater just below Old Main. Philosophy Club will have a table giving away free books. Please come, meet friends, and get the academic year off to a spirited start.

In your classes, you will be expected to write some kick-ass papers. If you’d like some hints to bear in mind, you can check out my short offering here, or you can check out a much more thorough set of hints here.

We will be hosting the intermountain Ethics Bowl this year. If you are interested in Ethics Bowl – which is like debate, but aimed more at substantive discussion than scoring points – watch for announcements, or speak with your instructor.
