You might be interested in Ethics Bowl. It is like debate, but with less attention on scoring points, and more attention on good, constructive dialogue about interesting and difficult moral situations. In previous years, Utah State has fielded some really terrific teams, and has participated regionally and nationally. It is a lot of work – almost as much as another class – but really fun and interesting, and helpful in building skills in research, presenting arguments, and fielding objections.
