Richard Sherlock, Professor of Philosophy at USU, will retire at the end of this academic year. We are planning a retirement event for him on Thursday, April 7th, 3-5 p.m., in the Caine Room (room 212 in the Family Life building).
I know some readers of this blog are former students of Richard, and we welcome you to attend the event. Or, if you won’t be able to make it but would like to record a video tribute to him, please send me a note and we will arrange it (charlie.huenemann@usu.edu).
I wanted to let people know that the next round of the Mormon reading group would take place on Wednesday after Spring Break (3/16) at 3:30pm. We will meet at the department office in Old Main. We will read pages 28-64 in the book.
The first, mentioned previously, is Michael Otteson’s talk about Aristotle’s view of the self, which is today (Tuesday, March 1) at 4:30 p.m. in Main 326.
The second is a talk by Abigail Fritz, philosophy alumna and current grad student in history. Her talk will focus on Socrates and his daimonion, or the little voice that told him things. Fritz’s presentation will be Thursday, March 3, 3 p.m., Main 227.

Attached is the CFP for UVU’s (nearly) annual G. Lawrence Anderson Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, scheduled for April 15. Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Clancy Martin, University of Missouri-Kansas City.
